SOUTH AFRICA - APARTHEID POLICE STATE; AUSTRALIA - APARTHEID POLICE STATE; ISRAEL - APARTHEID POLICE STATE

HOTEL HELL FOR REFUGEES

Headline on front page of Preston Leader on Tuesday 10 March 2020 (This is a Murdoch paper!!! )

Whatever happened to our so-called democracies?

Starting with South Africa, the world waited with bated breath for dramatic changes when Nelson Mandela became the first black president of a united South Africa and possibly the end of apartheid - and the police state.

Mandela retired after his first and only 5-year term as president - he was, of course, quite elderly by then and after the criminally hard life he had had in South Africa's infamously dreadful prison on Robben Island, he rightly thought a younger generation should govern for South Africa.

He  wrongly favoured Thabo Mbeki who was disastrous during his periods as president because he was an AIDS denier to the extent that even today, a few presidents later, HIV/AIDS still presents a major health challenge for the South African people.

A little later Jacob Zuma became president and corruption set in, with disastrous results for the economy and all other facets of South African life.

One of the disasters of this period was the Marikana massacre of many miners who had gone on strike because of the murderous mismanagement of the company owning certain mines.

The person who is now the president, Cyril Ramaphosa, was apparently the person who ordered the police and the army to open fire on the miners. In an earlier incarnation he had been the president of the organisation Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU). Then he became a business man and also very rich.

Disaster all the way, and the rich got richer and the poor poorer - if possble -  and South Africa still remains a mess - in 2020.

I arrived in Australia from South Africa in 1978, hoping apartheid and police state would not be as bad as in South Africa.

Idle hope! After all, apartheid started in Australia on 26 January 1788 and the nature of the British colonisation of Australia was that it was already a police state. Instead of improving over the years, the police state has intensified to the extent that asylum seekers managing to get to Australia - escaping mostly from brutal regimes around the world and arriving here to ask for asylum, hoping to have peace in their lives, are locked up in concentration camps from which escape is virtually impossible.

Some slightly more humanitarian politicians - and they are few and far between in Australia - managed to pass legislation to bring refugees to Australia from the concentration camps on Manus and Nauru for medical treatment.   This legislation was overturned by the government as soon as it was possible, and 55 asylum seekers have been locked up in a Mantra Hotel in Preston in Melbourne for the last 8 months with no chance of any relief in sight and no hope of change from a government and opposition determined to follow a police state mentality of locking people in concentration camps and throwing away the keys.

What is mostly ignored by most white Australians and many migrants in the last 200 years or so is that the indigenous inhabitants of this ancient country are still treated like savages in their own land and they are imprisoned at alarming rates where they are also suffering deaths in custody by a brutal police regime determinedly maintained by the police state governments of the country.

Some of those of us who have experienced the "joys" of living in a police state despair of any changes in Australia because so many people behave like sheep and also can - or won't be bothered with making any sorts of protests and leaving the rest of us with that hopeless feeling that there is never going to be any changes - ever!

At the age of 93 I thought I had seen and experienced most of the worst aspects of human nature but the longer I live the worse it gets - and I haven't spoken about Israel yet.

Israel is not only a police state, but one with fascist tendencies. Israelis resent being compared to the Nazis but most of what they are doing to keep the Palestinians under control is to keep them incarcerated in their concentration camps in Gaza and the West Bank on land stolen from them by the zionist settlers. Even those Palestinians who were and are in Israel as citizens of their own land are treated like second or third class citizens without full citizens' rights because the zionist project is to occupy the rest of Palestine which has some old Jewish names - Judea and Samaria - for them called after some of the old tribal groups of a few thousand years ago.

Israel wants a Jewish state and if that is what they want, Israel under no circumstances can be called a democracy - it hasn't been that for most of its existence - but a theocracy similar to Iran and other  similar religious states.

.........and Israel is the propagator of much of the anti-semitism in the world in the 21st century.

POLICE STATE - AUSTRALIA, 2019, IN THE STYLE OF SOUTH AFRICA DURING THE APARTHEID YEARS AND SIMILARLY ISRAEL, 1948 TO PRESENT

When I left South Africa in 1978 to escape the police state and hope for a new life in Australia, I did know that Australian governments had tendencies similar to police states, in its treatment of its indigenous population, tendencies which have magnified over the years.

Censorship in South Africa was extreme, particularly in relationship to the English-speaking media, because of their anti-apartheid views and the journalists who expressed these views.

Raids on all sorts of organisations - political, media, social - went to extremes and death resulted more often than not and also incarceration for non-crimes but deemed crimes by the police state and its laws and regulations - themselves criminal activities.

Australia has a government which is pressing the security  button on every occasion, but one needs to consider what the threats to Australia are and where they are or are not - coming from.

Australia involves itself with wars which threaten Australia's security, but which Australia has no right to be involved with. It has locked up - illegally of course - people fleeing from the terrors of many of the regimes around the world, often supported by the USA and its allies of which Australia plays its part one way or another. These people are locked up in concentration camps in Manus - Papua New Guinea, and Nauru, which is a country with laws similar to dictatorship and from whom all the poor asylum seekers need to be removed immediately.

Attacks by the government on journalists as has happened in the last few days is something which Morrison and Dutton are responsible for, no matter how much they deny it. The next step after this could well be complete censorship and we are well along that road because of the secrecy of the governments operations. What we do know is that we don't know what is going on in this country, and that is dangerous.

TURNBULL, DUTTON, ULTRA-RIGHT EXTREMIST, RACIST RHETORIC TRANSLATING TO POLICE STATE, DICTATORSHIP.

Malcolm Turnbull and Peter Dutton have ramped up the racist hate language with hopes it will lead to defeat for all its political rivals.

Dutton is now attacking Victoria's judicial appointments and system as well as going overboard with racist language.

It is beginning to sound more and more like apartheid South Africa which was a police state and apartheid Israel which is rapidly taking on shades of fascist states from Europe in the 20th century.

Together with Trump, who is sounding more and more like some dictators we grew up with in our 20th century world, with racism outstripping any vestiges of common sense, we are travelling backwards, not just to the 20th century, but to the 19th, 18th and 17th centuries and relating to medieval times with the worst of undemocratic control of population.

Why is it the African communities who cop the worst of the racist hate? Israel is busy trying to get rid of thousands and thousands of African refugees, some of whom have lived in Israel for many years. Trump is trying to get rid of refugee and immigrant communities in the USA, and today the ultra-white nationalist party in Austria started using language very reminiscent of Hitler's Germany with concentration camps looming as a spectre before us all.

And here in Australia we have had our own concentration camps for many years, and guess who is now responsible for them? Why none other than Peter Dutton, never forgetting that it was the white British who started the first concentration camps in South Africa during the Anglo-Boer war of 1899-1902.

What ever happened to democracy? People in Australia are already so conditioned that they have lost sight of democracy and believe we have to accept whatever our governments want.

Is this what everybody wants?

Never forget that Australia has been a racist country since the British arrived to settle here in 1788, and, having committed a genocide against the indigenous population, have maintained racism and apartheid ever since.

UNION OF POLICE STATES - USA, UK, AUSTRALIA, ISRAEL - AND MANY OTHERS!

The police state is not something new. Dictatorships such as Spain, Germany, USSR, Italy, South Africa kept tabs on their citizens and controlled them accordingly, with dire consequences if and when they strayed. This article covers much of the ground. It was on the blog Activist Post on 23 AUGUST 2103.

How to Talk to Kids About the Police State

Sigmund Fraud
Activist Post

While many adults would prefer to ignore it, a police state has already risen amongst the once free nations of the West. The legal framework and technology for this advanced big brother nightmare has been developing for decades, and as such, it is unlikely that the trend towards even greater surveillance, control and injustice will slow much in the coming years, even though the public is slowly awakening to what is happening.

The next generation of children may very well be the first to never experience privacy, and will be preyed upon their entire lives by the corporate state, ostensibly for purposes of security and marketing. As such it is imperative that today’s youths are given an honest explanation of what is happening along with hopeful guidance for navigating this brave new world.

What is to happen to the next generation? Are they to grow up knowing only subservience and submission to an all-seeing technological oligarchy? Or will they grow up to develop the personal power and intelligence to survive and thrive in this unfortunate environment?

Children are unlike adults in that they typically have a more intuitive way of reading the world around them. Too young to understand the logic of our chaotic and backward world, and too inexperienced to yet give into cynicism, kids also have a keen ability to know when someone should be trusted and when someone should be feared. The police state relies on it’s fearful image and tactics to maintain it’s power, and our young people are quick to see through this and spot the injustice, hypocrisy and the phoniness of adults.

In the classroom, children are taught the traditional nationalistic history, which celebrates and glorifies the past achievements of the state, repeating the idea that the nations of the West are governed by principles, morals, equal rights, democracy, and such. Being intuitively alert, it is impossible for the youth to be fooled by a painted picture like this, while all the while there is wanton violation of all this in the real world. The contradiction between this repeated lie and the real experience of living in a fearful security state contributes to inner conflict and reinforces the popular cognitive dissonance that renders so many adults useless in the effort to maintain personal liberty in these times.

It is imperative that we liberate the youth of today from the crippling fear that gives the police state its power. For this, here are some key considerations for discussion with today’s youth about life in a new age of tyranny:
  • Keep your moral compass focused on the principles of liberty, peace and love. The alternative is submission, conflict and hate, which will absolutely destroy you, as it is destroys those who would subjugate others.
  • Be honest with them about what we are confronting. Let them know that this is not right, this is not normal, and this is not how life should be.
  • What you are taught in school and in the media about how the world works is largely untrue.
  • You must know and understand your rights in order to endure injustice. The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the Magna Carta, and the volumes written on the subject of human freedom, liberty, the nature of tyranny offer moral guidance and inspiration. This is essential knowledge for confronting injustice and mustering courage.
  • You must exercise the rights that you still have, as well as continue to exercise those rights which have been unjustly turned into privileges.
  • Personal responsibility is crucial, as the alternative is apathy and indifference, which are crucial to rise of tyranny. This situation is your responsibility to deal with in whichever way you are guided to, but ignoring and refusing to acknowledge this is simply unacceptable.
  • You are not alone in this, as there are already literally millions of people worldwide contributing to efforts to bring light onto what has come to operate in the dark. The movement towards global freedom is indeed growing in parallel with the move toward global slavery.
  • It is not OK to emulate the leadership that we have nowadays, nor to join them in enforcing unjust laws. It is also not OK to profit from intruding on someone else’s liberty and privacy.
  • What happens to your neighbor and countrymen also happens to you. A predatory government always starts on the outskirts of society, first demonizing and persecuting fringe groups, then naturally evolving to toward more segments of society until everyone is a terrorist. By ignoring today the targeting of others, you contribute to your own persecution in time.
  • Privacy is something very valuable and very critical for mental health and well-being. It is important to learn how to exercise privacy and to protect yourself when using technology. Learn how to opt-out, decline, and skillfully not-comply when possible.
  • Taking care of your body, your mind, and spirit, and intentionally living with conscience will liberate you from the psychic and spiritual trap that is the control-freak matrix. It is designed to diminish your personal power and make your life seem insignificant. Turning your attention away from the mindless distractions and temptations of the media and focus instead on self-mastery and personal spiritual cultivation will help you to see through its illusions.
  • History is full of tyranny, war and ugliness, yes, but it is also a continuing story of revolution, triumph, re-construction and love, so do not be fooled by those too afraid to put hope into action.
  • Life is too short and too precious to live in fear of another human being. You deserve to be happy and enjoy your life, so it is your task to rise above this insanity.
Preparing the future generation for the challenges plaguing humankind requires brutal honesty with them about the condition of the world, while offering them hope and direction by exposing them to the creative ideas that will improve things. We have, sadly, created many problems for the next generation, the police state being only one of them. Courageous souls are needed, and it is our responsibility to develop within the youth the personal power to move through this.

This article was inspired by the following video which offers a short glimpse into the tragic lives of some of Syria’s youth as their country descends further into all-out war. The strength and poise of the children in this video is equally inspiring and heart-breaking and should give us all pause in considering how we prepare the next generation for the possibility of a better life than this…
